Application of Traffic Assignment 

The application of traffic assignment are 

1. To determine the deficiencies in the existing transportation system by assigning the future trip to the existing system. 
2.  To evaluate the effects of limited improvement and addition to the existing transportation system by assigning estimated  future trip to the improved network.
3. To developed contruction priorities by assigning estimate future trips for the intermediate years to the transportation system proposed  for those year.
4. To test alternative transportation System proposal by systematic and readily repeatable procedures. 
5. To provide design hour traffic volumes on highway and turning movements at junctions.
