Major  Aims Of Traffic Assignment 

The major aims of traffic assignment are :

1. To estimate the volume of traffic on the links of the network and possible the turning movement at intersections.
2. To estimate zone -to - zone travel cost for a given level of demand. 
3. To obtain reasonable link flows and to identify heavily congested links.
4. To estimate the routes used between each origin to destination pair.
5. To analysis which origin to destination pairs that uses a particular link or path.
