1. Dug Wells :-

  • Historically all dug  wells were evcavated by hand and were today the same method is widely employed. A typical dug wells is often no more than an irregular hole in the ground that intersect the water table. A pick and shovel are the basic implements. The well was lined with a stone, brick, tile or other material concrete tile because to prevent collapse and was cover with a cap of wood, stone or  concrete tile. Because of the type of construction bore wells can go deeper the water table then can hand dug wells.

 2. Driven wells:-

  • Driven wells are constructed by driving a small diameter pipe into shallow water bearing sand or gravel. Usually a screened well point is attached to the buttom of the casing before driving. 

 3.  Drilled wells:-

  • Drilled wells are constructed by either cable tool or rotary drilling machine. Drilled well that penetrate unconsolidated material required installation of casing and a screen to prevent in flow of sediment and collapse. They can be drilled more than 100 feet deep.

 

 

 Developing ground water resource sustainably is easily in some hydrogeological  environment then other. If  good supply of groundwater cannot be found everywhere.

Examples:- if the local aquifer are low permeable or complex  or there are ground quality issue then now boreholes and well must be sited and design Carefully.
